Tweak-SSD

By activating certain SSD-related system tweaks, you can boost your SSD’s performance. Tweak-SSD, a Totalidea Software product, will help you activate these tweaks. It has a wizard-like interface that will take you step-by-step through the whole process. You don’t have to be an IT wizard; you just have to go through the wizard to activate some tweaks and optimize your SSD drive for better performance.

Tweak-SSD works with PCs that run Microsoft’s Windows 7 or Windows 8.X operating system (at the time of writing this, of course). That’s 32- as well as 64-bit versions of Microsoft’s operating system. To get Tweak-SSD up and running on a PC that runs Windows 7 or 8, you will have to complete a simple installation procedure: download and run an installer, click through the instructions presented by a setup wizard.

Said setup wizard will invite you to check for Tweak-SSD updates to make sure you’re installing the latest version. It will also ask you if you want to install the free edition or the licensed edition (install the free edition if you don’t have a license code, install the licensed edition if you have a code). And last but not least, the wizard will ask you if you want to create a System Restore point before installing Tweak-SSD.

Three tabs are presented in the upper left hand corner on Tweak-SSD’s interface. The following 3 tabs:
Start – start a wizard that will help you activate SSD-related system tweaks, check for updates, upgrade to the licensed version.
TRIM Performance Optimization – this feature tells the SDD drive which blocks of data are no longer in use so they can be wiped. Please note that this feature is not available in the free edition; a prompt will show up and notify you about it.
Other tweaks – access a couple more tweaks that will boost your SSD’s performance: 8.3 name creation of NTF partitions; program compatibility assistant.

The best thing about Tweak-SSD is that it is very easy to use. As mentioned above, you don’t have to be an IT wiz to optimize your SSD. You just have to complete the Tweak-SSD optimization wizard.
